Sheer poetry in Stones. Majesty and magnificence, unrivaled, the Mandir of Neelkanthdham is the only one of its kind across the world. The monumental masterpiece of ultimate devotion to superpower Lord Shree Swaminarayan. It is just at the banks of Narmada. The breathtaking beautiful view of the temple is equally riveting under daylight and moonlight. The temple is the largest of the rock-cut Hindu temples. It is considered one of the most remarkable carved temples in the world because of its size, architecture, and sculptural treatment.
The temple is an humble effort to offer an abode to The God. We tried our best to do so.The center attraction of the temple is the murti of Shree Neelkanth Prabhu. The Murti is so miraculous and wondrous that one may miss a beat or two of heartbeats while having first-hand darshan. The murti is a great piece of craftsmanship made of five metals namely gold, silver, bronze, copper and mercury. The Bhagwan is consecrated in seated posture unlike standing posture in most temples. The murti has the weight of ———– and height of————-. In all golden sinhasan, Varni seems to be all lustrous and bright. Pilgrims have the privilege to directly anoint the feet of Neelkanth Prabhu with The facility of Charan-abhishek.
The temple is a tourist’s paradise and a meditative sanctum for the devotees.
Underground is the mammoth Haveli carved in beautiful carvings, colourful, scenic and consisting of many lofty pillars. Lord Vishnu and goddess Laxmi have been consecrated here in an impressive posture canopied by Sheshji.
Another standing murti of Neelkanth Varni is also standing in a lotus flower. Devotees personally can anoint this murti first-hand. They can avail the benefit of Mahapuja where a family can sit together and have blessings by Lord Narayan. The Puja will be performed by pious Brahmins who will guide pilgrims in rituals of the pooja.
Temple has four distinct circumambulation rounds. Amidst those four, 108-Gaumukh-snan-pradakshina path shows and makes pilgrims feel the divinity of another world. As it is well-sculptured with 108 cow-mouths which will pour the most holiest narmada-water on pilgrims while circumambulating the temple. The water is fetched from Narmada and is used in anointing 24 incarnations of The God, the sacred water of anointment fills up Neelkanth Sarovar. From that, flows the gaumukh-dhara resplendent with divinity and splendour. Due to great spiritual significance, Pilgrims feel to be sin-free on bathing here.
