The monumental masterpiece of ultimate devotion to superpower Lord Shree Swaminarayan.  It is just at the banks of Narmada. The breathtaking beautiful view of the temple is equally riveting under daylight and moonlight. The temple is the largest of the rock-cut Hindu temples. It is considered one of the most remarkable carved temples in the world because of its size, architecture, and sculptural treatment.

  • This huge temple was built completely in solid rock according to ancient Sthaapatya Shastra style by 11,000 great artisans who worked for 12,000 man-hours each to define every corner of this sacred temple.

Dev Darshan

The Main Varni Temple

The temple is an humble effort to offer an abode to The God. We tried our best to do so.The center attraction of the temple is the murti of Shree Neelkanth Prabhu. The Murti is so miraculous and wondrous that one may miss a beat or two of heartbeats while having first-hand darshan. The murti is a great piece of craftsmanship made of five metals namely gold, silver, bronze, copper and mercury. The Bhagwan is consecrated in seated posture unlike standing posture in most temples. The murti has the weight  of ———– and height of————-. In all golden sinhasan, Varni seems to be all lustrous and bright. Pilgrims have the privilege to directly anoint the feet of Neelkanth Prabhu with The facility of Charan-abhishek.

The temple is a tourist’s paradise and a meditative sanctum for the devotees.

Radha-krishna Dev, Laxminarayan Dev

Alongwith the main temple, we offered separate temples to Radha- Krishna dev and Laxminarayan on the left and right sides respectively. The murties are way too fascinating here. Black and white stones are used in making these murtis. All the murtis are consecrated in golden sinhasans.

Bal Ghanshyam Temple

Another separate temple is dedicated to Cute Ghanshyam maharaj(child form of lord Swaminarayan). Bal prabhu is impressive in his tenderness, which fetches an unbreakable flow of love and affinity from visitors.  The murti here is brightly lustrous and riveting. We serve him by offering delicious thal thrice a day, a couple of aartis and ample sacred offerings such as decorative cloths, toys. He is seated in a golden swing and pilgrims can have privilege to make The Lord swing personally.

In the same temple, there are enchanting idols of Dharmadev and Bhaktimata, father and mother of Ghanshyam Prabhu respectively.

The utsav-murti Which goes around Nagar-Yatra everyday is also situated here.(photograph of UTsav-murti)

There is another special ritual of Shakar Tula performed here. The ritual is for infants or children. A child is weighed in a Tula called Sakar tula. The child-weight will be, then, balanced by placing equal amounts of Sakar into another pan. The Sakar is then offered to Bal Ghanshyam and in return, the child receives lifelong blessings of well-being and Penda and sakar as Prasad. All the family members then celebrate and have fun for the occasion.

Hanuman temple

To the opposite of Bal Ghanashyam temple, there is a separate temple of Hanumanji.there is a special significance for this temple. Lord Hanumanji practices penance at the bank of Narmada, the auspicious penance-place is not so far from the hanumant-temple of our campus.

Pilgrims can take advantage of free TEL-ABHISHEK,a ritualistic worship to Lord Hanuman. Prasad of sweet-dish of Sukhdi, is available here for sacred offering to The Lord. Every morning, Pujan with vaidic rituals is offered with heartfelt devotion. Hanuman-Jayanti is celebrated with great pomp and show to revive the divine festivities of Hindu culture.

A stretch of water, usually rising, at the edge of an unspoilt riverbank- all these scenic beauties can be grasped through a single cast from the view-point located in the circumambulation of Hanuman-temple.

The temple is one of the most visited tourist attractions in india.

Sheshshayi Vishnu temple

Underground is the mammoth Haveli carved in beautiful carvings, colourful, scenic and consisting of many lofty pillars. Lord Vishnu and goddess Laxmi have been consecrated here in an impressive posture canopied by Sheshji.

Another standing murti of Neelkanth Varni is also standing in a lotus flower. Devotees personally can anoint this murti first-hand. They can avail the benefit of Mahapuja where a family can sit together and have blessings by Lord Narayan. The Puja will be performed by pious Brahmins who will guide pilgrims in rituals of the pooja.

Shiv- Ganpati temple

Two more temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Ganpati are established just at the entrance to the main temple. Climbing stair-case of the main temple, left would come a Ganpati temple and right would be Shiv- temple. Aartis and bhogs are offered periodically and the deities are served according to various rituals by learned scholar Brahmins.

All the mandirs are few of the best examples of craftsmanship.

Mandapam

Mandap means canopy which represents the universe. We have four such special-purpose mandaps.

Akhand-Dhun Mandap

Amidst them, ever vibrating with great pomp and show of devotion is Akhand-Dhun Mandap.

Here, 24*7 melodies of dhun are in the air. “ Swaminarayan” is the mahamantra that gets recited perennially and timelessly with heartfelt devotion. The beautiful murti of Ghanshyam maharaj is consecrated here for the pleasure of Dhun-comers. Devotees residing across the country enjoy the dhun to the full monty. Huge Led screen facilitates engagement of far-residing devotees who join the Dhun on a virtual platform.    ( pic- dhun mandap) (starting date- Prabhu swami)

Vishnuyag mandapam

Two others are the mandaps. Special sacrifices giving desired fruits are ritualistically and righteously conducted by Vedpathi Brahmins. Scholar and devout Brahmins perform particular sacrifices according to the will of the sacrifice-sponsors

Ved(samhita) mandapam

Veds are considered as part and partials of Hindu-Sanskriti. The premevial scriptures, worded by the Lord Narayan, most pious and piece-giving Vedas are the backbone of entire knowledge and wisdom of the cosmos. Counting the inclination towards western culture, perseverance and propagation of these foremost scriptures is an order of the day today.

To keep that up, we perform Ved-Samhita path here. Sacred Brahmins sing ruchas(recitation)

of ved in a divine melody.

Vaidik chants are mesmerising to the passers-by to the mandaps.( pic- sacrifice mandap)

Maruti Mandap

This is specially designed for Maruti yaag. Lord Hanumanji have had a soaring penance in the very vicinity of the campus and hence Maruti yag is performed here. It is highly effective in discarding sorrows and grief all together. Pilgrims often fill this place as they ,themselves, can involve and perform the yaag. Specially trained and learned Brahmins will accompany and guide you throughout the Sacrifice.

Gaumukh Snan

Temple has four distinct circumambulation rounds. Amidst those four, 108-Gaumukh-snan-pradakshina path shows and makes pilgrims feel the divinity of another world. As it is well-sculptured with 108 cow-mouths which will pour the most holiest narmada-water on pilgrims while circumambulating the temple. The water is fetched from Narmada and is used in anointing 24 incarnations of The God, the sacred water of anointment fills up Neelkanth Sarovar. From that, flows the gaumukh-dhara resplendent with divinity and splendour. Due to great spiritual significance, Pilgrims feel to be sin-free on bathing here.
